Reddit, Inc. seeks Engineering Manager in San Francisco, CA:
Job Duties: Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. Build, hire, and lead a high-caliber team of software engineers. Set and maintain performance, latency, and efficiency goals. Lead, coordinate, and execute a coherent vision for performance and platform quality that supports and enables Reddit's growth into new product capabilities. Coach and mentor engineers on the team to further their professional development. Set and support a culture of metrics driven quality, with efficient processes and strong transparency. Lead a team to innovate and replace internal frameworks and tooling to help Reddit's feature teams write performant code. Telecommuting is permitted.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field) or closely related quantitative discipline and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in the field of software engineering OR Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field) or related discipline and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of software engineering.
Special Skill Requirements: (1) Web development; (2) node.js; (3) JavaScript; (4) A/B Testing; (5) Unit Testing; (6) CI/CD; and (7) GraphQL; and (8) APIs. Telecommuting is permitted. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable.
