Fivetran’s documentation receives rave reviews from our customers – it is a core part of our product. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technical Communications Director to lead our documentation team. As the Technical Communications Director, you will manage and empower a globally-distributed team of documentation experts and technical writers to produce world-class documentation and UI copy that helps our customers succeed.
What You’ll Do
- Enthusiastically champion great technical writing throughout Fivetran
- Be the owner of technical terminology across all of Fivetran
- Represent the Technical Communications Team in company-wide meetings and presentations, and as an evangelist with leaders and executives at Fivetran
- Grow and nurture our global and cross-functional Technical Communications team
- Lead the documentation strategy & vision, prioritizing initiatives to drive outcomes
- Lead process and automation improvements
Skills We're Looking For

8-10 years previous technical writing experience for ETL/ELT SaaS product

Experience leading and managing a globally-distributed documentation team

Strong understanding of SaaS concepts, cloud computing, APIs, and web technologies

Experience with documentation tools such as Confluence, Jira, Git, Markdown, etc

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a keen eye for detail

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation for different audiences

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

A collaborative and proactive mindset with a passion for improving the user experience through effective documentation
