Director Sales Development - EMEA

About the Role

We’re looking for a Director, Business Development within our EMEA segment who will play a crucial role in our sales organization by managing, training, and coaching our EMEA Business Development Managers and partnering closely with Sales Management to ensure adequate pipeline generation. You’ll be responsible for management, development and execution of strategic tactics for outbound business development.  Further, you will be a key member of our sales leadership team and help shape the development of our EMEA BDR program as we expand globally.


This is a full-time position based out of our Dublin office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Report directly to the VP of Global Business Development and be the Leader of the EMEA Business Development team. 
  • You will manage a team of Business Development Representatives, ensuring activity and coverage targets are met, resulting in new demand generated on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Closely collaborate with other Business Development leaders in APAC and NA, by joining weekly Team Meetings in the early evenings.  
  • Monitor, enhance and continually improve Fivetran’s prospecting process around a set of lead qualification and revenue KPIs.
  • You will continuously foster and encourage an environment where best practices are developed and then shared with the broader team. 
  • Work as a peer to senior leaders across EMEA Sales, Marketing, Demand Gen, and RevEx to ensure end to end processes suitable to ensure strong conversion rates at our early stage funnels and to ensure overall strategies are aligned and continuously improved. 
  • Conduct 1:1 coaching to continuously improve sales capability and develop a growth mindset of the BDR leadership and individual contributor team.
  • Drive prospecting discipline, including performance & pipeline reporting through team meetings, 1:1s, and performance management process.
  • Develop and present executive-level vision and operating plans in support of BDR and their associated top-of-funnel future capabilities’ growth.
  • You will add to an already fun, challenging and results-oriented culture.  


Skills We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 5 years SDR/BDR leadership inbound and outbound motions and 3 years of second line managerial experience.  
  • Proven track record in building successful sales teams, ability to coach and inspire others.
  • An operational mindset & strong analytical skills. Experience using Salesforce and data analytics tools, Looker a +, but not a requirement.
  • You are positive and possess an optimistic attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • You find yourself learning, researching and talking about outbound sales strategies / tactics daily.
  • You are candid and clear in your communication style to all stakeholders at Fivetran; direct reports, leadership and colleagues. 
  • You have the ability to execute on strategies that will help uplevel the EMEA BDR organization.
  • You are familiar with cultural nuances within the EMEA regions.
