As the Director of Product for Trust & Safety, you will be instrumental in shaping the visionary direction for safeguarding and nurturing a cutting-edge fintech marketplace. This dynamic team is dedicated to tackling a wide array of challenges, all aimed at enhancing user experience, fortifying security measures, streamlining identity verification processes, refining fraud prevention policies, and constructing innovative platforms that solidify Affirm's position as a frontrunner in the industry.
In this role, you will lead a talented team of Product Managers, exert influence across various product domains, and orchestrate seamless collaboration with Trust & Safety analytics and operations units. Your responsibilities extend to crafting features and platforms that effortlessly enhance customer interaction with Affirm, seamlessly integrating into a comprehensive member journey.
You will closely collaborate with experts in Fraud Risk, Machine Learning, Customer Operations, Engineering, and our broader product teams to uphold the safety of both consumers and merchants. The Trust & Safety division is experiencing rapid expansion, both in terms of its scale and its influence. This presents a remarkable opportunity for you to shape the product vision and implement a strategic roadmap that will profoundly shape the future trajectory of Affirm.
What you'll do
- With your team, you’ll own the Identity, Authentication, Security, Fraud and Membership roadmaps
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to set long term objectives, KPIs and closely track progress against the team’s goals
- Partner with other product teams and engineering teams to scale our platforms and meet the needs of new products, partnerships and unlock new distribution channels
- Build configurable systems and platforms that allow us to identify users seamlessly with minimal friction, and at the same time, increase account security
- Innovate on our tooling systems to fight fraud and unlock new loan volume
- Own the product vision, strategy and customer-focused product roadmap through close collaboration with senior leadership, Operations, Data Science, Analytics, Design, and Engineering while balancing business needs and keeping our users safe
What we look for
- 12+ years of product management experience and having directly led teams (ideally 5+ years of management experience)
- Proficiency with one or more of the following - trust and safety, fraud, identity or payments
- A passion for financial products and improving people’s financial lives
- Proven ability to scale and foster a team while leading from a product driven stance
- Ability to lead a large decentralized group from complex and ambiguous situations to clarity and focus
- Experience balancing competing needs in a platform, striking the right balance between flexibility and consistency, and comfortable communicating prioritization
- Track record of successfully launching and growing products at scale
- Ability to balance outstanding user insight with high analytical rigor
- Drive to question assumptions and validate hypotheses
- Obsesses over getting the product details right, but knows how to ship on time
- Lead, mentor and develop a growing team of product managers

Equity Grade - USA 18
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $260,000 - $340,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $230,000 - $310,000
