Director, Global People Operations

The Role:

SoFi is seeking a Director, Global People Operations to lead our Global People Operations team, whose goal it is to provide core foundational support, quality service, and self-empowerment to all partners & employees through our focus on innovative solutions, efficient processes & compassionate engagement. This leader will play a critical role in helping transform the people organization into a global shared service delivery model through scaling people, process and technology. The ideal candidate has proven experience managing global people operations functions in the US and LATAM, as well as experience in global operations expansion and shared service strategy.

What You'll Do:

  • Leadership and Strategic Direction: Provide leadership and strategic direction for the global people operations organization. Define and communicate the team vision, roadmap and framework for transformation aligned to the company’s overall strategy. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the shared services team.
  • Global Operations Strategy: Partner with HRIS and stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and automation within shared service functions in order to optimize team capacity and organizational efficiencies.
  • Drive Innovation through Technology: Drive innovation and continuous improvement through the strategic use of tools and technology.
  • Service Delivery Management: Ensure that services are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Monitor service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and customer satisfaction metrics to drive performance improvements.
  • Stakeholder and Change Management: Lead change management efforts related to the implementation of new shared service initiatives, process improvements, or organizational changes. Communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders to drive adoption and minimize resistance to change. Provide training, coaching, and support to ensure successful implementation and integration of changes.
  • Talent Development and Team Management: Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the global shared services organization. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and individual growth.
  • Program/Project Management: Lead and own complex global projects and support cross-functional programs through ruthless prioritization against business objectives
  • Policy and Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks associated with people team operations, including data security, regulatory compliance, and operational risk. Implement robust controls and monitoring mechanisms to manage risks effectively.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 10+ years of related HR experience in a dynamic environment
  • 7+ years leading a global People Operations function or equivalent focused on continuous improvement and process harmonization in a complex, global, or newly public company 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Expert knowledge in HR service delivery, HR policies, and compliance processes
  • Strong understanding of how to navigate both strategic and tactical aspects of the position (rolling up your sleeves when necessary and delegating where appropriate)
  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience operationalizing complex initiatives into systematic and efficient work streams. 
  • Ability to positively influence stakeholders, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and maturity
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong preference for experience with Workday and Shared Service platforms
