The Director, Global Corporate Communications plays a key role in shaping and executing strategic communications that advance GHX’s vision and strengthen our position as an industry leader in the healthcare supply chain. The ideal candidate is an experienced storyteller and a master at messaging that fosters deep connections to the GHX brand vision. In this mission-critical role, you’ll develop deep, cross-functional relationships with executives and key business partners, build and maintain connections with top healthcare and business reporters and influencers and architect communication strategies and plans for surround sound campaigns that advance our corporate and commercial goals. While the primary focus is the U.S., the role will collaborate on strategic communications globally. This position reports to SVP, Communications & Corporate Sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Lead, inspire, develop and manage the employee communications and public relations team, including vendor partners, to deliver on goals and business results.
- Strategic Communication: Develop and complete an essential, comprehensive communications roadmap that aligns with GHX’s business objectives and strengthens our position as global leader in the healthcare supply chain.
- Internal Communications: Develop and implement internal communication strategies that foster remote-first employee engagement, alignment, and understanding during times of change; collaborate with HR on internal communications and change management initiatives.
- External Communications: Build, lead and implement strategies that promote and protect GHX's brand and reputation, including media relations.
- Executive Communications: Create a strong executive/C-suite voice and compelling internal/external communications to optimally position GHX.
- Issues & Crisis Communication: Develop crisis communication protocols and strategies to proactively preserve GHX’s reputation and expertly manage communication around issues or crises, if they arise.
- M&A Communication: Manage essential internal and external communications during M&A with a focus on setting the deal up for success and future growth.
- Social Media: Partner with GHX's Corporate Marketing to use social media channels to improve and expand the reach of executive and brand communication and engagement.
- ESG/Corporate Responsibility: Partner with SVP Communications & Corporate Sustainability to define and implement an enterprise-wide ESG strategy aligned with GHX’s corporate priorities.
- Investor Relations: Collaborate with and support investor relations to ensure consistent and transparent communication with stakeholders, enhancing trust and fostering long-term relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 16+ years of proven experience in leadership roles within communications and public relations, with a minimum of 8-10 years in healthcare or financial services.
- Strong leader with ability to inspire and mentor.
- Exceptional writer and verbal communicator.
- Expertise in crisis communication and issues management, as well as M&A communications, is required.
- Communications experience in dynamic, regulated industries that garner significant media attention.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with media, stakeholders, and key industry influencers, including existing relationships with top-tier media and journalists.
- Strategic thinker with capacity to embed Mission, Vision and Purpose into effective communication strategies.
- Exhibit understanding and curiosity about the emerging role of Generative AI and its impact on society, healthcare, GHX’s business and the role itself.
- Digital native with proficiency in digital communication tools and social media platforms.
- Ability to work across time zones.

The compensation for this role is:$138,000.00 - $183,000.00
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
