Location: US or Canada

We are looking for a Field Engineering Leader to join the DNB organization, leading the DNB - Named segment of the business.  In this role, you will lead first-line Managers, and their teams of Solutions Architects, focusing on highly technical accounts, helping to drive our expansion in the Named Digital Native space.  Your experience in building and leading technical pre-sales teams in Big Data/Analytics or Data Science, track record of building strong partnerships with the sales organization, and ability to engage and build relationships with highly technical engineering leaders to influence their thinking and decisions will help us to grow consumption in this segment of our business.  You will partner with the sales leader to build and refine the sales and technical processes, and guide your team, all with the aim of scaling the business, while also building and guiding an effective and efficient team of Solutions Architects.  You will report to the Director, Field Engineering, Digital Native Business.

The impact you will have:

  • Hire, manage, and partner with first line leaders, and a growing team of technical Solutions Architects.
  • Build a collaborative culture within a high growth team; while embodying and promoting our cultural values.
  • Build and refine a sales and technical pre-sales motion that can operate at scale to win and onboard new workloads and customers.
  • Build relationships with highly technical engineering leaders to have long term influence on key decisions.
  • Help your teams translate Databricks products and messaging to resonate with our customer base.
  • Collaborate with your peers to develop strategies to drive adoption of both Databricks, and specific products, within your business.
  • Grow consumption in your Business (DNB Named) by 300% this year!

 

What we look for:

  • 3+ years of experience as a manager of managers, with a preference for previous experience in a second line role.
  • Relevant high-growth enterprise software pre-sales success in a leadership role, preferably with experience working with Digital Native customers.
  • Ability to engage in technical conversations with customers, from ICs up to founders and C-level executives.
  • Strong understanding of open source technologies in the data ecosystem (eg. flink, iceberg, etc.), and other competitive/adjacent technologies.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about data, AI/ML, and the cloud, with a preference for previous experience with Databricks.
  • Track record of building strong cross functional relationships, particularly across Sales, Product, and Engineering.
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, empower, and retain a diverse team, to achieve objectives in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment.
  • Proven record of building scalable processes, and the operational rigor to manage a high scale business and drive efficiencies.
