About the Opportunity: We are seeking an accomplished and strategic leader for the role of Director of Product Management to join our product department at our loan servicing, SaaS-based financial technology company. As the Director of Product Management, you will bring extensive experience and expertise to lead and manage a team of Product Managers, driving excellence in product development and achieving organizational goals.
Your day-to-day at Sagent:
Leadership and Management:
- Achieve organizational goals through visionary leadership and management of a Product Management team.
- Conduct performance appraisals, pay reviews, and provide advanced training and development opportunities for team members.
Product Strategy and Vision:
- Identify and pursue features that align to a product vision, defining clear goals and outcomes for existing and new features.
- Align product strategies with organizational objectives and market demands.
- Routinely engages with prospects, customers, internal staff, partners and industry analysts to understand market requirements and opportunities.
Roadmap Development:
- Define a framework for customers and stakeholders, developing a compelling roadmap that outlines the business problems being solved now, next, and later.
- Define release plans using the standard Sagent process, with awareness or cross-product impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design and development, to deliver per established plans.
Technology Assessments:
- Conduct technology assessments to ensure feature feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
- Leverage knowledge of critical interdependencies to optimize product performance and customer solutions.
Product Documentation and Management:
- Work with your team to identify and document the purpose and scope of a feature including stakeholder identification, market assessment, target demographics, overview and use cases, functional requirements, usability requirements, technical requirements, environmental requirements, support requirements, assumptions and constraints.
- Manage ongoing trade-offs within the product development cycle.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Completion of a four-year college degree in a relevant discipline, plus eight years of experience in a related field; or completion of an advanced degree (master's or higher) in an applicable and relevant field, plus five years of related experience in an applicable field. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to achieve goals through others.
- Operational and strategic management capabilities.
- Experience in overseeing design teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in developing comprehensive product roadmaps and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Strong understanding of the value of articulating business outcomes and effective communication.
- Visionary leadership with the ability to motivate others towards superior performance.
- Understanding of retail loan servicing in the United States and a background in the use of the software used to support this work.
- Should have significant customer interaction experience and be at home giving presentation to customers (all levels including executives) as well as gathering requirements.
