Mission Focus: Performing Modernization and enhancement, Operations and Maintenance, and Development on an existing web-based system to improve security, user functionality, stability, and cost efficiencies.
Clearance: Top Secret
Location/Flexibility: Remote with a possibility for occasional travel
Responsibilities:
The Database Administrator will:
· Implement and maintain one or more complex databases
· Implement procedures to control access and allocation of data and maintain security controls
· Maintain database definitions and documentation
· Exhibit advanced subject matter expertise
· Contribute to and may lead the planning and implementation of large programs in the function, and regularly interfaces with senior management and executive leadership
· Troubleshoot database issues
· Respond to technical support requests
· Provide database architecture recommendations
· Convert logical data models to physical
· Optimize performance of SQL queries, functions, procedures, and packages
· Deploy database software changes
· Develop PL/SQL for incorporating business logic into backend
· Provide input into database design as well as implementing the developed solution
Required Qualifications:
· Expert: BS degree and 11+ years of relevant experience OR HS Diploma and 14-17 years of relevant experience
· Senior: BS degree and 6+ years of relevant experience OR HS Diploma 9-13 years of relevant experience
· OCP (Oracle Certified Professional - Database Security)
· Familiarity with Agile software development
· Extensive experience with Oracle, SQL, and Java
· Experience with query tools such as Toad or SQL Developer
· CompTIA Security + Certification
· Advanced knowledge and extensive implementation of Oracle database design, theories, and solutions.
· Ability to work with data architects and other IT specialist to set up, maintain and monitor data networks
· Knowledge of database structure languages, such as SQL or PL/SQL
· Familiarity with database management best practices
· Experience with a variety of computer information systems
· Excellent attention to detail
· Problem-solving and critical thinking
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Java, C#, or Python
· Experience with Linux, Shell Scripting
· Oracle Certified Associate (OCA)
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.
