Job Description

 

Scalable’s Data Department is looking for a Data Steward for one of our data engineering teams. The team is responsible for building, maintaining and operating an AWS based data platform used for data delivery for various regulatory purposes. As a Data Steward you will be a go-to person for data-related inquiries and play a key role in data processing across a leading FinTech company.

Job description:

  • Document the data landscape, data quality and related processes within the framework of the team.
  • Manage our data lifecycle.
  • Support in developing and ensuring data standards.
  • Support in the definition and execution of our data ownership concept.
  • Support in implementation of data governance policies and standards.
  • Monitor and assess the quality of data across various systems, design and implementation of data quality checks.
  • Maintain metadata repositories to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data dictionaries and data lineage.
  • Collaborate with IT, security & legal teams to ensure data security and privacy compliance.
  • Support in the creation of processes for data collection, storage and security.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify data quality issues and define and maintain data quality standards and metrics.
  • Be a data translator between technical and business departments.
  • Work closely with data owners and other stakeholders to resolve data-related issues.
  • Provide guidance and support for data-related initiatives and projects.
  • Provide training on data quality and related best practices.

Qualifications

  • University degree in technical or business field: management, computer science, natural sciences or similar.
  • Experience in data quality management, data governance, or related roles.
  • Experience with data analysis and data quality testing using SQL.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles and practices and attention to details.
  • Basic familiarity with data privacy and security aspects.
  • Experience with data documentation and cataloguing tools (e.g. Collibra).
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for data and data-driven way of working.
  • Structured work style and self-organisation.
  • Strong business and data domain understanding.
  • Positive outlook on life and a sense of humour.
