Customer Success Manager, Defence and Intelligence

About the Role:  

The Customer Success team at Planet is seeking a new Customer Success Manager to maintain relationships with customers in our actively growing Defense and Intelligence segment in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  Your mission will be to act as our main point of contact and trusted advisor for Planet customers and focus on client retention. The ideal candidate is a proactive, creative thinker, and a great communicator. Maintaining a human-centered approach, you will help drive value realization and return on the client’s investment. In addition, you will utilize your defense & intelligence domain expertise and good working knowledge of remote sensing, GIS and geospatial imagery products to be our customer’s go-to Planet ambassador.

Impact You’ll Own:

  • Build and maintain long-lasting customer relationships
  • Bring in domain knowledge and be the trusted advisor to our Defense & Intelligence  customers
  • Assist customers to expand their usage and adoption of our products
  • Onboarding and training of new clients
  • Co-own contract renewal with Sales
  • Provide excellent customer experience, ensure successful delivery of our services, produce timely solutions according to customer needs and goals
  • Communicate consistently with clients throughout the contract life-cycle, escalating important issues where needed
  • Work closely with Sales and other teams across the company

What You Bring:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing customer relationships or projects
  •  3+ years of experience in Customer Success, account management or similar 
  • Defense and Intelligence background and/or experience working with customers in this domain
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to successfully communicate and coordinate with international customers & sales teams
  • Experience solving complex problems, and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize job requirements
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and operate in secure environments

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Working proficiency in one or more European languages
  • Experience in IMINT, ISR, and related fields
  • Experience working with government customers
  • Working knowledge of geospatial technologies, GIS or Remote Sensing
  • Currently have and maintain security clearance with experience operating in secure environments
