Country Manager, Japan

Tokyo - remote first in JPN

What you’ll be responsible for:

In this role, you will be responsible for building the ecosystem and developing strategic partnerships in Japan. You will own OKRs and be responsible for developing the partnership pipeline, qualifying partners, and closing deals with strategic and target partners.

In this role you will work closely with the Circle leadership and cross-functional (XFN) teams.  A key aspect of your role is working through ambiguity to give internal stakeholders at Circle a sense of Web3 policy developments, trends within the market, demands from partners, and where/how to invest resources.

You will build a metrics-driven, high-velocity business, while responsibly delighting prospects and ensuring their long-term success as Circle customers, partners and ecosystem. You will be responsible for hiring, training, mentoring, and building a world-class business development and sales organization.

What you'll work on:

  • Managing, training, and leading high-velocity teams 
  • Developing and forecasting on a metrics-driven pipeline
  • Working closely with stakeholders on key deals to ensure strategic targets are closed and key inbound business is won

What you’ll bring to Circle:

  • 13+ years of developing fintech or technology strategic partnerships
  • 10+ years of experience developing strategic partnerships in Japan
  • Held a senior management role before, and understand the XFN relationships required internally and externally to execute successfully
  • Professional and technical knowledge of payments and blockchain technology
  • Exceptional leadership experience with proven ability to hire, retain, and motivate employees
  • Excellent pipeline management and forecasting abilities
  • Finally, you enjoy building at the earliest stages. You care deeply about contributing and improving company processes. You enjoy moving at a fast pace, building a long-lasting foundation, and helping partners thrive
  • Experience/familiarity with Salesforce, Slack, and Google Workspace.
  • Native or business fluency in Japanese and English
