The Control and SCADA Manager position will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems and SCADA infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for renewable energy. 

What You’ll 

  • Manage the SCADA integration process from development to Final Completion hand-off to Asset Operations team. 
  • Initiate SCADA integration by providing key project information to SCADA providers to obtain bids and engineering designs. 
  • Review scope of work, general design description, and selected SCADA equipment on SCADA proposals, and address comments or approval with upper management to initiate Purchase Order of the SCADA and project kick-off. 
  • Identify and communicate design parameters on projects in SCADA design development. Work with the EPC to establish MET Station location and MET sensor placement. 
  • Distribute SCADA design packages to broader teams and organize design questions and comments to relay to the SCADA vendor project manager. Assign and respond to SCADA-related RFI's during the design process. 
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly SCADA integration calls to address design updates, questions, or schedule shifts. 
  • Analyze the whole the fleet of SCADA systems in the region and elaborate on proposals for performance improvement and business development. 
  • Troubleshoot projects from PIS to Final completion with SCADA visibility, and troubleshoot performance issues on operating sites. 
  • Access SCADA server to confirm site visibility and remote access. Perform DC health assessment on sub-inverter level data mapping, inverter performance, tracker performance, and system losses to the Point of Interconnection (POI). 
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on project progress and escalate as necessary to remove issues. 
  • Work with Project Managers to align on schedules, communicate SCADA milestones, provide project updates, and coordinate testing requirements with the Utility or Off-Taker.
  • Manage external relationships with SCADA vendors, DAS vendors, EPC’s, and other relevant major equipment vendors. 

Must-Haves 

  • 7+ years of experience in control systems and SCADA management, preferably within the renewable energy sector. 
  • Understanding of solar, energy storage, and hybrid systems as well as the entire development process from the point the project is contracted until Placed in Service (PIS). 
  • Competent to accurately and concisely convey technical issues and project status of multiple projects at a time. 
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with HMI software design, SCADA, and DAS systems and integration.
  • Advance knowledge of network architecture, communication protocols, and electrical Plant and Substation design.

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related.
