POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a Construction Analyst at our impact-driven fund management firm, you'll have the opportunity to develop expertise in construction loan administration while supporting transformative community development projects.
A large aspect of the role is in maintaining order, tracking details, and ensuring processes run smoothly. You'll be at the heart of our construction draw management process, using your organizational skills and attention to detail to help keep critical community development projects on track. Whether you're reviewing construction documentation, tracking project progress, or maintaining our detailed monitoring systems, your work will directly contribute to the successful completion of affordable housing and community facilities. Responsibilities
Construction Draw Management (50%)
- Review construction draw requests against established budgets and scope, identifying discrepancies and exceptions
- Analyze AIA G702-703 documentation for general contractor payment applications
- Review and verify all draw documentation including lien waivers, invoices, and owner's sworn statements
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets tracking balances between project costs and funding sources
- Track construction budgets against work completed
- Identify disbursement/corrections needs and "budget out of balance" risks
- Review construction inspection reports to verify work completion and identify risks
- Coordinate disbursement of funds according to policies and procedures
- Administer and service a portfolio of active construction loans with multiple capital stacks
Project Coordination and Communication (20%)
- Serve as primary point of contact for borrowers regarding construction draw review and processing
- Coordinate across multiple internal teams regarding draw requests and construction completion
- Collaborate with Asset Management, Closing Teams, outside vendors, and internal underwriters
- Support Construction Director in training borrowers on disbursement processes
- Work independently to provide excellent customer-focused experience for borrowers
- Participate in problem-solving sessions with Construction Director, borrowers, and internal teams
- Coordinate post-closing follow-up requirements and post-close draw overview process meetings
Reporting and Documentation (20%)
- Maintain detailed project tracking systems and construction monitoring files
- Support monthly/quarterly presentations on construction lending to internal team
- Track and document construction progress and potential risks to budget and schedule
- Maintain accurate internal records of loan disbursements and project progress
- Create and update project progress reports for various stakeholders
Process Management and Improvement (10%)
- Implement and maintain project management and organizational tracking tools
- Support process improvements in construction draw management
- Assist in developing and maintaining best practices for construction loan administration
- Coordinate with third-party inspection firms and other external partners
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for construction lending processes
QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or relevant related work experience in commercial construction lending
- Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in construction
- Basic understanding of construction draws and payment applications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in community development and social impact finance
- Ability to work through complicated loan disbursement requirements
- Knowledge of the construction finance industry
- Demonstrated ability to translate construction and legal requirements
- General knowledge of loan-legal documentation
COMPENSATION
LISC offers a competitive salary ($66,500-$83,250) and excellent fringe benefits.
TRAVEL
This position is expected to travel less than once per month, up to 15% annually.
