Actian, an HCL Software company, is looking for a Competitive Intelligence Intern. The intern will be trained by and work with the Director of Competitive Intelligence, based in the Austin, Texas, USA office. Allowances will be made for different time-zones.

During this internship, the intern will gain learning exposure in the following areas:

The general data vendor market environment, including trends

The Competitive Intelligence Lifecycle, from data gathering to analysis including SWOT

Competitive Intelligence dissemination: Presenting competitive intelligence findings in different formats

Responsibilities:

Create and maintain competitive collateral, including battlecards, (add other specific example), and other documents

Update battlecards based on research into Actian's competitors

Support requests for intelligence from various Actian stakeholders including participation in special research projects

Experience and Skills Desired:

Education either completed or in progress related to the Software or IT related fields, but Economics and similar fields also welcome

Strong research abilities

Analytical mindset

Inquiring mind

Strong desire to learn more about the data market (databases, data warehousing, data integrations, etc.)

Experience with data tools useful but not required

Requirements:

Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program
