We began with second-hand electronics in KSA, becoming market leaders, and are now expanding to used cars and collectibles. In just two years, we've facilitated hundreds of thousands of transactions across 150+ locations in the Kingdom, maintained 10,000 active listings at any given time, earned the distinction of being the 10th most downloaded e-commerce app in KSA for 2023, and received more than 5 million app downloads.

Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Lead to oversee and drive key commercial projects for Soum. This is an essential role, focused on managing high-impact initiatives that drive performance across various areas, including product selection, pricing strategies, incentives, and the diversification of supply sources. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of the commercial landscape, and experience in managing complex cross-functional projects to help launch new categories and revenue streams.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Project Management & Execution:
  • Lead and manage special commercial projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, marketing, product, operations) to execute strategic initiatives
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively, ensuring each initiative’s success and impact on the business.

  • Insights & Performance Management:
  • Provide insights and analytics to assess the performance of various commercial initiatives, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Regularly analyze business performance to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that track the success of key initiatives and commercial goals.
  • Manage and coach a team of business analysts, guiding them in their day-to-day work, helping them develop their skills, and ensuring that their insights and analyses contribute directly to the success of commercial projects.

  • Pricing & Incentives:
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of pricing strategies and incentive programs to maximize revenue and competitiveness.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure pricing strategies are aligned with market conditions and business objectives.

  • Product Selection & Campaign Support:
  • Support product selection strategies for marketing campaigns, ensuring the right products are promoted to the right customers at the right time.
  • Work with the marketing and merchandising teams to ensure products are showcased effectively in campaigns and promotions.

  • Supply Chain Diversification & Partnerships:
  • Explore and support new sources of supply and potential partnerships to diversify product offerings and drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with vendors and partners to ensure a wide variety of products are available to meet customer demand.

  • Category Expansion & Revenue Diversification:
  • Lead initiatives for the launch of new electronics categories, identifying opportunities to expand the product portfolio and increase revenue.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new revenue streams and business models to ensure continued growth and diversification.

  • Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience:
  • 6+years of experience in a commercial, project management, or business development role, preferably in the B2B marketplace sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional projects, with a focus on driving performance improvements and commercial outcomes.
  • Experience in pricing strategy, product selection, and campaign support.
  • Familiarity with the dynamics of supply chain diversification and strategic partnerships.

  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive insights from data and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders to drive business objectives.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas and results to senior leadership.

  • Languages:
  • Fluency in Arabic and English are a must.

  • This role requires an individual who can handle a wide range of high-priority commercial initiatives, from pricing optimization to the launch of new categories. It is ideal for someone who is strategic, results-driven, and able to navigate complex business environments.
