Job Description
Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer III - Roadway Design candidate for our Transportation Design Group. This position is based in our Richmond, VA office and is eligible for Remote.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- Lay out horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for road widening projects
- Model and design roadway improvement projects using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer
- Use 3D visualization software for client and public communication presentations
- Develop plan sheets and compile project packages for project submission
- Complete roadway and drainage calculations utilizing software and reference material
- Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
- Research and download available GIS open-source data
- Complete field observations and data collection for office use and project discussion
- Learn new technology to advance own skill set and group knowledge
- Attend project meetings with clients and contractors
Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- A bachelors or master's degree in civil engineering or closely related field
- Ideal candidates would have at least 4 years of experience in transportation civil engineering related to roadway design
- Bentley OpenRoads Designer proficiency preferred
- AutoDesk Civil 3D proficiency preferred
- VDOT experience preferred
- EIT preferred
