Role Overview
You will work as part of our applications development team to manage and develop customer-facing software applications which are essential for enabling end users to install and update content, manage systems configuration, develop customised scenarios, and to control rFpro software distributed across multiple networked computers.
You will manage and develop tools used by our internal teams to deliver rFpro digital model content to customers. You should ensure that our tools work efficiently with large datasets across a variety of applications and plugins. Along with these production tools you will help to maintain and optimise Quality Control procedures for our digital models.
What will you be doing?
Working in conjunction with internal teams to develop and enhance applications and tools, including:
- Software for processing virtual road surfaces in industry-standard formats.
- Generating scenarios to be used for motorsport and autonomous vehicle testing.
- Extending 3rd party software with bespoke functionality.
- Engineering custom workflows to improve content production efficiency.
What are we looking for?
- A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar
- Experience of C++ programming
- Development of high-performance applications for computationally intensive tasks
- Ability to understand and translate mathematical formulas into application routines
- Ability to work with source control software (branching, merging, resolving conflicts)
- Strong understanding of test driven development (TDD)
- Exposure to C# / .NET Framework and/or Python
- Mesh geometry creation and surfacing manipulation
- Knowledge of AI/ML for image detection/processing
- Familiarity with Agile processes and tools (Scrum, Jira)
Qualifications
A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar
