About the role
Wealthsimple is looking for an experienced Business Development Representative to help grow our Wealthsimple for Business product line (Group Retirement Savings Accounts). In this role you will work directly with Account Executives and Sales leadership to build sales opportunities through outbound prospecting, focusing on our Enterprise and Mid Market segments. Applicants should be self-starters, hard-working, comfortable with rejection, and driven.

About the role
Wealthsimple is looking for an experienced Business Development Representative to help grow our Wealthsimple for Business product line (Group Retirement Savings Accounts). In this role you will work directly with Account Executives and Sales leadership to build sales opportunities through outbound prospecting, focusing on our Enterprise and Mid Market segments. Applicants should be self-starters, hard-working, comfortable with rejection, and driven.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Build sales opportunities through outbound prospecting including outreach emails, calls, social connections, and networking. 
  • Analyze and research accounts, focusing on qualification, key stakeholders, unique value propositions, and market timing.
  • Create new outbound cadences and scripts, testing messaging, and effectiveness.
  • Be the first impression of our team, articulating Wealthsimple's value proposition to potential prospects.
  • Manage early stage prospect opportunities ensuring follow ups and hand-offs are executed quickly and efficiently.
  • Independently nurture and educate prospects through self-developed campaigns.
  • Provide feedback and insights to Sales and R&D teams to influence roadmap priorities.

  • Skills you bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in sales or client facing role including outbound prospecting.
  • Experience using Salesforce in a B2B context including managing leads, contacts, accounts, and opportunities. 
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding quotas or targets.
  • Experience using tools (or similar alternatives): Salesforce, Salesloft, LinkedIn Navigator, Zoominfo, Gong.io.
  • Resourcefulness: you should have a demonstrated track record of persevering in the face of adversity.
  • Flexibility: in a startup, priorities and direction can evolve quickly. You should have a positive can-do attitude and be adaptable to evolving business goals.
  • Goal-oriented: you should have experience (and be excited about!) working hard towards a goal.
  • Strong communication: you should be comfortable writing persuasively and communicating at all levels.
  • Self-starter: when you see a need, you address it.
  • Natural curiosity: you should be eager to understand our client’s needs and uncover the root of their problem.
  • Experience in a fast-pace start up or industries such as finance, HR tech, or benefits is a bonus!
