About the Role
The primary role of a Business Analyst is to create and maintain requirements that illustrate the physical and functional needs that the product must perform to meet the users’ needs as well as any constraints of the functionality. This will be done by developing a deep understanding of the data and product environment and collaborating with the stakeholders, users, and various internal teams. Good requirements are essential to the success of our software teams and the products that we build. They help align the team around a project and give engineers and designers the information they need to execute their work successfully.
A Day in the Life
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, sales teams, and customer success teams to understand and gather information on the requested functionality.
- Create requirements that document the requested changes to ensure a smooth and efficient product delivery. Impacted objects include databases, applications, and reporting.
- Meet with stakeholders to review requirements to ensure that everyone is aligned on their understanding and that any ambiguity has been removed. This will result in signoff being provided for the requirements.
- Participate in meetings to understand if there is any change to the scope that would necessitate updating the documentation. The requirements should be maintained and kept up to date throughout the product delivery process.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned.
What You Need
- Experience in business requirement gathering and expectation management during projects to ensure customer satisfaction.
- 3+ years’ experience in a software development environment
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
- Outstanding attention to detail, with appreciation for documentation
- Fluency with healthcare data is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to ask questions and generate consensus
- Ability to work independently and acquire new technical skills
- Proficiency in writing SQL is preferred
