About the role
The Associate works with other Security team members and partners cross-functionally with all departments to perform third party risk reviews and application reviews. The role is responsible for ensuring Oscar’s policies and data are secure and compliant for our teams to build trusting relationships with our Members and Partners.
You will report to the Manager, Security Governance, Risk and Compliance.

Pay Transparency:
The base pay for this role is: $131,200 - $172,200 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Support compliance efforts across various regulatory frameworks.
- Conduct assessments on cybersecurity requirements and control inventory to identify gaps.
- Maintain security inventory for audit artifacts, ensuring a responsive approach to requests.
- Assist in third-party risk management processes, including developing strategies to mitigate recurring third-party risk, vendor assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- Maintain vendor inventory and collaborate with teams to complete software and 3rd Party reviews.
- Coordinate with third-party partners on vendor backlog and assess various risks.
- Perform reassessment and due diligence related to security incidents impacting operations.
- Create and deliver training programs and awareness campaigns for cybersecurity and third-party vendor review processes.
- Contribute to developing governance, risk, and compliance policies aligned with best practices.
- Inform risk based decisions based on cybersecurity regulations
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience related to cybersecurity
- 3+ years of experience related to risk management
- 3+ years of experience related to project management
- Working knowledge of ISO27001, NIST, HIPAA, PCI, SOC2 and/or HITRUST
Bonus Points
- Prior work experience in or understanding of security challenges specific to the healthcare or health insurance industries
- Hands on experience with AWS
- Basic knowledge of scripting
- Experience automating audit activities through tooling
- Experience speaking with auditors
