ABOUT THE FLOCK
As a member of the Patient Services flock, you will have the opportunity to engage patients who are enrolled in the company’s patient support services program (my bluebird support) . In this role, you will assist patients with seamlessly accessing bluebird bio’s FDA-approved gene therapies. my bluebird support is custom-designed to account for the one-time administered, potentially transformative nature of our gene therapies. Our aim is to offer personalized assistance to each patient, and their caregivers, throughout the gene therapy treatment journey.
HOW YOU’LL FLY
You'll help to bring more patients their bluebird days by:
- Creating a supportive and trusting environment for patients and caregivers to seek information about bluebird’s gene therapies.
- Providing education, resources, and coordination along the patient journey.
- Assessing individual needs of the patient and developing an appropriate education and resource plan of action.
- Educating the patient on bluebird gene therapy coverage based on their benefits and the steps needed to gain prior authorization to ensure understanding of the process for access.
- Working with the Qualified Treatment Centers (QTCs) to ensure understanding of access and reimbursement to bluebird’s gene therapies.
- Successfully collaborating across functions to ensure a cohesive support network for QTCs.
- Communicating high level ‘insight themes’ back to a cross-functional team to refine how we approach patient and QTC engagement.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
You’re the bird we’re looking for if you have:
- BA/BS with a minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical/biotech patient services experience with deep expertise in access and reimbursement. Gene therapy experience is a plus.
- Direct experience working with patients and/or caregivers.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to connect and inspire patients, caregivers, providers and QTC staff.
- Strong people skills that demonstrate flexibility, persistence, humor, deep empathy, creativity and trust.
- Curiosity to learn new things and digging into the 'why'
- Highly proficient with key performance metrics and data analysis.
- Knowledge of OIG and other guidelines relating to compliant medical communications.
Location: Midwest or West-coast based
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a total compensation and rewards package that ranks among the best in our industry. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $155,000 - $185,000. Your base pay will be determined based on several factors including market data, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and travel requirements. Our overall package also includes eligibility for stock, incentive bonuses, and benefit programs, a flexible time off program, as well as paid holidays, bluebird days, and a holiday shutdown in December.
